Daniel Acebes Pardo

Daniel Acebes was born in Palencia, where he soon received his first cello and piano lessons. Later he moved to Castellón where he studied the Higher Degree in Cello and Chamber Music with Professor Manuel Santapau, graduating with the highest grades.

In 2011 he travels to Düsseldof, Germany, where he holds a Master’s Degree in Orchestral Specialization with Professor Gregor Horsch (Principal Cellist of the Royal Concertegebow Orchestra of Amsterdam). Then he made another Master with the same teacher, this time specializing as a solo musician.

He has participated in courses and has actively received classes from professors Marçal Cervera, Martin Löhr (Berliner Philarmoniker), Patrick Demenga, Lluis Claret, Jeroen Reuling, Anner Byljsma, José Enrique Bouché, Álvaro Huertas, Herre Jan Stenenga, Tamas Varga, Thomas Piel, Antoaneta Emaunilova, among others.

As a teacher, he has an extensive experience, both in Germany and in Spain. In addition, every summer he teaches at the International Course of Music of Benicàssim , and at Musical Summer ( Málaga), as well as electric cello clinics at Cellos Magics.

He has been a member of orchestras such as BOS ( Bilbao Sinfonika Orkestra), RTVE Orchestra, JONDE, JONC, JOGV, The World Orchestra of Jeunesses Musicales, and the Castellón Symphony Orchestra.

From 2014 to 2017 he is cello Tutti of the Folkwang Kammerorchester Essen, and is a regular collaborator of orchestras such as the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra or the RTVE Orchestra.



He has performed concerts as soloist with the Euro Arts Orchestra (Concerts at the National Theatre of Sao Paulo, Brazil), with the Orchestra of the Higher Conservatory of Castellón (Auditorium and Congress Palace of Castellón), Orchestra of the University of Dusseldorf (Tonhalle Dusseldorf), Folkwangkammer Orchester (Villa Hügel Essen), among others.

Among his prizes is the first prize in the IV Competition of Cellos of the Conservatory Superior of Castellón, the first prize in the National Competition of Chamber Music “Ciutat de Burriana”, in addition to having been awarded by the Obra Social Ibercaja, the Ministry of Culture, and the Spanish music course “Music in Compostela”.

Far from classical music, he is interested in other types of music, especially rock. For this reason he has recorded and produced in more than 40 projects, where his albums stand out with his cover group “Chelo Submarine”, and his own self-produced song project with his alias “El Chelista”, with whom he has already recorded several albums. Also highlighted are collaborations with artists such as Brian May, C Tangana, Coti, Jorge Drexler, or the Twangero among others.

Daniel owns a Thomas Bertrand cello from 2009, and is an official artist of the brand of the electric instrument NS Design, with whom he collaborates doing masterclasses of electric cello for students around the world.
